About Gail: I've held a number of roles since starting at UW 10 years ago. I'm currently working at the Cheriton School of Computer Science as a Finance Coordinator. Beyond the essentials of my role, I love the challenge of working on process improvements geared toward efficiencies, measurement and accountability (not a simple task in this large and siloed environment). Outside of work, I enjoy really bad reality TV and talking to my plants.

Reason for running: I think this is an interesting time for UW. Given the large number of employees facing retirement, budget constraints, and the 'new way of working' (both due to the pandemic and technology transformation), this is an opportunity to look holistically at what best serves the staff for the future. I will first seek to understand the workings of UWSA and its relationships with all stakeholders, and I will then seek change if and where it is warranted.

Vision for the UWSA: My vision is the same as UWSA's: the Association will be champions of equity, advocacy, and social justice for staff.
