The Sustainability Office is excited to announce the launch of its new Sustainability Leadership Certificate, which allows students to be recognized for their sustainability action on campus and in their community.
November 25, 2024 marked the Sustainability Office's annual Eco Summit, where the 2024 Sustainability Report was launched, green program awards were handed out, and students and staff shared how they contribute to a sustainable campus.
The Sustainability Action Fund has granted funding for nine new projects in spring 2024. These projects include training and workshops to improve green skills and decrease climate anxiety, invasive species removal, air quality monitoring, and new sustainable transportation initiatives.
On November 22nd, 2023, the Sustainability Office hosted its 10th annual Eco Summit to accelerate sustainability action on campus.
On November 23rd, more than 110 people joined us at Fed Hall for an afternoon of celebration, networking, and community building at our 9th annual Eco Summit. The theme of this year’s Eco Summit was ‘What Can We Do’, placing the focus on how we can work together towards sustainability.

The Sustainability Action Fund has granted funding to five new projects in fall 2022. From recycling filament scrap from 3D printers and promoting reusable containers to electrifying lawn equipment and building sustainability into the engineering curriculum, these projects will help make UWaterloo more sustainable.
The President’s Advisory Committee on Environmental Sustainability (PACES) are calling for applicants who are interested in advancing campus sustainability. The committee will represent a cross-section of Waterloo stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and administration, to provide advice to the president on campus sustainability programs and policies.
The Sustainability Action Fund has granted funding to four new projects in winter 2022. Repair events, a new community garden, and student-led sustainability initiatives will be supported by this round of funding.
