St. Paul’s University College is pleased to announce the appointment of JP Gladu as its next Chancellor. Mr. Gladu is the President and CEO of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB), one of Canada’s premier organizations for Indigenous entrepreneurs.
A new plant nursery, situated beside the original St. Paul’s community garden, was inaugurated at a reception on Friday, June 2. The plant nursery was funded by a Chartwells Campus Project grant, and will help increase the food output of the St. Paul’s community garden, now run by UW Campus Market Garden.

St. Paul’s University College has launched a Booster Club for the women’s basketball team, as well as the St. Paul’s Women’s Basketball Excellence Awards, which will provide financial awards for members of this varsity team. The School of Environment, Enterprise and Development (SEED) is hosting a screening of the documentary AFTERMATH, which explores the story of the Nicobar Islands after being devastated by the 2004 tsunami. The film, which had its world premiere in Vienna, has generated a fair bit of attention, as it focuses on the controversial impact of international development aid in light of increasing extreme weather events happening globally.
Humanitarian and former parliamentarian Lloyd Axworthy will be installed as the first chancellor of St. Paul’s University College today. As part of his duties, Axworthy will sit on the St. Paul’s Board of Governors and provide leadership to the College.
