How to apply or declare major
As a Math student at Waterloo, how do I declare or switch into the AM-SciML major?
Please contact the AM-SciML advisor, Prof. Eduardo Martin-Martinez, at amachugr@uwaterloo.ca to submit the relevant form. Math students typically declare their major by their 2A term, but you can switch into AM-SciML at any time after that as well. There is no selection process, and tuition is the same as for other Math majors. (Note that CS and DS have higher tuition, and many CS-major courses are only open to CS and DS students.) The AM-SciML program has substantial flexibility to facilitate combination as a double major with most other majors in the Math Faculty (exceptions are DS and CM).
How do I apply to Waterloo to study AM-SciML?
Apply to Mathematics and choose AM-SciML (Applied Mathematics with Scientific Computing and Scientific Machine Learning) as your major at the end of first year.
