Applied Math professors receive grants from the National Research Council

Professors David Del Rey Fernández and Achim Kempf from the Department of Applied Mathematics received research grants from the National Research Council of Canada (NRC).

David Del Rey Fernández received a grant of $538,197 for his project “Efficient and mathematically robust quantum algorithms for linear and nonlinear partial differential equations.” Del Rey Fernández also recently received Alliance grants totalling $122,998 from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).

Achim Kempf received $496,000 from the NRC for his project “Quantum error correction and prevention using transformers.”
