Abstract
This talk is intended to provide a quick crash course in applied optimal control. The talk will cover basic topics such as, what is optimal control, where and why it could be used and, more importantly, some simple examples to show how optimal control is applied in practice. The talk will not be overly technical and no knowledge of control theory will be assumed. If you have ever wondered what control theory or optimal control theory was, then this talk is for you.
