Abstract

In engineering applications, actuators are used as control devices to introduce or to prevent motion. Finding the optimal location of placing the actuator is an area of active research since 1980's. Optimal location is obtained by minimizing a suitable cost function. Optimal ${\H_{\infty}}$ is a cost criterion that minimizes the effect of disturbance. I will be presenting my talk to the committee and more specifically talk about how to go about solving my problem.
