Title
Solving systems of nonlinear partial differential equations through quantum computing
Abstract
Recently we have introduced a quantum algorithm for solving systems of nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs). In this talk we describe its construction and discuss regimes where a quantum speed-up is expected. We then discuss recent extensions and new applications of the quantum algorithm. We emphasize that a quantum algorithm for solving systems of nonlinear PDEs opens up a large new application area for quantum computing – quantum simulation of classical nonlinear continuum systems and fields – which has substantial scientific and economic impact.
