University of Waterloo Awards
The Faculty of Engineering awards a $400.00 Upper-Year Scholarship (UYS) to the top student in each of the 2A to 4B classes. This award is based on performance in the previous term and is paid by the Dean of Engineering. This is also available to Engineering students who are Undergraduate Research Assistantships (URAs). These are valued at $600.00 per term for which the student is expected to work six hours a week with a Professor on a research topic. A list of projects and supervisors is available at the beginning of each term. These projects are financed by the Professor's research grant. In addition to the UYSs and URAs, awards are given for the best work term report in each term.

External Awards
There are a number of awards and scholarships available from outside the University of Waterloo. The Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA) is an award which you can apply for through the department. Please contact the Program Undergraduate Advisor/Co-ordinator for more information.
