The Office of the Ombudsperson is dedicated to providing confidential, impartial, and independent assistance to students. They work collaboratively to informally resolve concerns and complaints related to university policies, rules, and procedures. They assist with student-related academic and non-academic issues.

Examples of some concerns they help with:

  • Grievance, petition and appeals
  • Academic and non-academic discipline
  • Housing and residence
  • Interpersonal challenges

If you believe you have been treated unfairly, aren’t sure what your options are, or if you would like to discuss how a University of Waterloo policy or procedure applies to your situation, feel free to contact them by email, in person, phone (519-888-4567 x.36124), or virtually
