Tea was discovered over 4,000 years ago in China, and legend says Emperor Shen Nong accidentally brewed the first cup when tea leaves blew into his pot of boiling water. Tea played a significant economic role throughout history, even being used as currency in some cultures. Today, there are over 3,000 varieties of tea enjoyed world-wide.
