Recent research by Segal et al. (2025) showed that radical acceptance skills helped participants deal with stressful situations and reduced negative emotions. The results showed that negative affect induced by a personal distressing event fully returned to baseline among those who used radical acceptance, but not among those who used the check-the-facts approach (a cognitive-change-based skill that encourages reappraisal of negative events). Their findings suggest that radical acceptance is an effective approach for managing stressful situations and increasing resilience.
