My philosophy is, it's none of my business what people say of me and think of me. I am what I am, and I do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. And it makes life so much easier.

Anthony Hopkins

Social comparison refers to the process of comparing aspects of ourselves to other people as a form of self-assessment. While there can be advantages to social comparisons, more often they have been shown to inaccurately inflate or deflate self-esteem.

Comparing ourselves to others who have more than we have or who are doing better than we are, without questioning factors that might account for the difference, can increase feelings of inadequacy.

We each have our own journey, our own pace, and our own set of circumstances to navigate. Just for today, let go of comparison and just be who you are, and do what you do.
