Introduction to Crochet

Then join us Mon, July 6, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and make a cozy beanie.

  • Cost: $28 (plus HST)

  • Location: Waterloo Campus. Room will be sent after registration.
  • Max:  8 participants
  • Open to: all members of the University of Waterloo Community

No need to bring anything, no stress. Just bring your sense of adventure and join us for a fun session.

If you don't finish your piece during the session, no problem. You can bring it to any lunchtime or evening Yarn-in and complete it with an instructor there for support.

Make this cozy beanie and learn basic crochet knowledge and skills.

Supplies included in class:

  • Crochet hook
  • Yarn (variety of colours to choose from)
  • Removable pompom
  • Pattern and instructions
  • Darning needle

You will receive a basic overview of:

  • yarn
  • crochet hooks
  • how to read a pattern
  • crochet terminology
  • joining pieces together

You will learn basic crochet stitches:

  • Chain
  • Slip stitch
  • Single crochet (regular and back loop only)
  • Saddle stitch (sewing)
  • Basic terminoloty
  • Introdution to reading patterns
