PhD scholar receives prestigious P.E.O. Scholar Award to advance tourism research
Congratulations to Samantha Bray, a PhD student in Geography and Environmental Management, for winning the P.E.O. Scholar Award to advance her research focusing on destination stewardship, where public, private and civil sectors collaborate to protect the existing community and environment.
Camp Environment: Spring Term Social
We invite you to join us on Thursday, July 9 for a community lunch on the EV3 Green at 2:00pm. We hope to gather together in the sunshine for an afternoon of connection, conversation, and fun.
All students, staff, faculty, and colleagues are welcome to attend. Lunch will be provided for Faculty of Environment guests.
In addition to enjoying lunch, attendees can take part in a variety of outdoor activities and connect with fellow members of our community.
We are especially excited to welcome some of our incoming first-year students, who will be joining us to experience the vibrant and welcoming spirit of the Faculty of Environment firsthand.

Gender and fisheries video selected as a SSHRC Storytelling Challenge finalist
PhD candidate Nayadeth Arriagada is a finalist in the 2026 SSHRC Storytellers Challenge, a national competition that challenges postsecondary students nationwide to demonstrate how their research is positively influencing the world. Arriagada shares how her research rethinks gender, vulnerability and adaptation for small‑scale fisheries in Chile and beyond.
