Having studied rural planning, international cooperation, and environmental studies, Alice deploys her diverse experience to advance programs related to sustainable agriculture, economic livelihoods, and maternal health and social justice.
Alice works as a Grants Program Manager for World Renew, a team she has been a part of for 13 years. She manages the organization’s relationships with Canadian government agencies and institutional donors. Working closely with international staff and local partners, Alice is responsible for facilitating community-based solutions that emphasize the co-creation of locally-led initiatives.
Serving with a humble and strong heart for tending to vulnerable communities and the environment, Alice advocates for change in systems, policies and practices that ensure a sustainable relationship between people and the planet. Her commitment to amplifying the voice of communities is demonstrated through her work promoting sustainable agriculture with small-scale farmers by increasing their ability to adapt to climate change, access to markets and increase productivity. Recognized as a gender champion, she advocates for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls which promotes human dignity supporting access to quality health care, education, nutrition, and economic opportunities.
Alice is an active member of the Canadian Christian Relief and Development Association Creation Care Task Force, KAIROS Ecological Justice Circle, the Ontario Council for International Cooperation, Cooperation Canada, and Canadian Partnership for Women and Children's Health creating and deepening collaborative relationships and cross-sectoral learning.
Equally committed to her local community, she is a refugee sponsorship coordinator working to sponsor families to Canada, a children’s program facilitator fostering positive relationships, and a community garden manager increasing food security of at-risk youth. She also sits on the Board of Trustees for Willowdale Christian School, executing the school’s strategic transformation plan that prioritizes experiential and project-based learning in science, technology, engineering, math, and the arts.
