When Todd Pokrywa wrote his bachelor's thesis in 1995, New Towns as an Alternative to Urban Sprawl Development – A Case Study of Viera, Florida, he had no idea one day he would be the one leading land use planning and development for the 20,000+ acre master-planned community of Viera on Florida's Space Coast. 

Martine August, a professor of Planning in the Faculty of Environment at the University of Waterloo was recently granted the Early Researcher Award to help further her research on the impacts of housing financialization and its role in Canada’s housing crisis.
