Jonathan Baugh is working toward the physical realization of quantum information processors in solid-state systems, using the property of spin to encode and manipulate quantum information. Past work has focused on solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance devices, and more recently on combined electron-nuclear spin systems and single electron spins in quantum dots. Prior to joining IQC and the Department of Chemistry in 2007, he spent one year as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Tokyo. He was previously a Post-Doctoral Fellow at IQC, and received a Ph.D. in Physics in 2001 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Jonathan is joined by his wife Atsuko Negishi, a biophysicist.
