About the speaker
Prof. Dr. Harry Hoster is Chair of Energy Technology at the University of Duisburg-Essen and Scientific Director of the Zentrum für BrennstoffzellenTechnik (ZBT) — one of Europe’s leading research centers for hydrogen, fuel cells and electrolysis technologies.
He studied physics at the University of Bonn and completed his doctorate on anode materials for methanol fuel cells at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich. After a postdoctoral stay in São Paulo, he established a research group in surface science and electrochemistry at the University of Ulm. Following his habilitation in physical chemistry, he held a professorship at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and later served as Scientific Director of TUM CREATE in Singapore. He has also been a visiting professor at Nanyang Technological University and was most recently Professor of Physical Chemistry and Director of Energy Lancaster at Lancaster University. Since October 2021, he has led the ZBT scientifically, advancing
research and development in fuel cell and hydrogen technologies.
