EQuALS is a venue for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and young scholars considering an academic career in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) field. The purpose of this conference is to explore the spectrum of pathways of academic success in STEM with an explicit focus on gender equity and its intersections with other identity markers. There will be opportunities to present research to peers and experts in the STEM fields, participate in academia-focused professional development, attend inspiring keynotes, and interactive panel sessions. The conference will facilitate networking with like-minded scholars to form supportive academic communities and connections with academic mentors.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
