In this keynote, professor Vinod Subramaniam, president of the University of Twente will explore how technology is a key driver of progress in healthcare, with a special focus on the role of the TechMed Centre at the University of Twente. About the speaker
Vinod Subramaniam has been President of the University of Twente since 2021 and currently chairs the Federation of Technical Universities of the Netherlands (4TU). He is trained in electrical engineering and applied physics, and his scientific work has focused primarily on protein biophysics. Previous roles have included being director of the FOM (now NWO) Institute AMOLF in Amsterdam and rector magnificus of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is a member of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (KHMW), a fellow of the Netherlands Academy of Engineering (NAE), and a council member of the Advisory Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (AWTI), an independent body which advises the Dutch government and parliament on matters related to science, technology and innovation. He is one of the co-leads for entrepreneurship and impact for the Association of Dutch Universities (UNL).
