Overview of Key Research Centers at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan
The Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) is pleased to present an Innovation Seminar with Hung-Ming Chen, Chia-Ching Chang, Bor-Ran Li and Ray-Hua Horng, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan.
The seminar titled, "Overview of Key Research Centers at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan" will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in QNC 1501.
Abstract
The talk will kick-start with a short overview of the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, plus international engagements and the uniqueness of Taiwan. It will also provide brief details about the College of Electrical & Computer Engineering and its research centers and activities.
Next, there will be a short overview of the Center of Intelligent Drug Systems and Smart Bio-devices (IDS2B), which is supported by the Higher Education Sprout Project by the Ministry of Education (MOE) in Taiwan. This center aims to form an international research team to solve Taiwan's unmet need for cancer, renal diseases, and neural disorder diseases. Therefore, the center focuses on developing smart drug systems, developing smart bio-devices and interfaces, and exploring critical technology and platforms.
Finally, the talk will introduce research at the Center for Emergent Functional Matter Science (CEFMS), focusing on three main areas: (1) advanced energy materials and applications, (2) non-invasive smart diagnostics, and (3) cutting-edge quantum materials and devices. The center combines interdisciplinary approaches to drive innovations in energy, healthcare, and quantum technologies.
