Twenty-nine University of Waterloo researchers, including 4 science recipients, 3 of which are members of WIN, will receive $3.4 million from the provincial government to further research innovation in Ontario.
Mike Harris, MPP for Kitchener-Conestoga, Amy Fee, MPP for Kitchener South-Hespeler, and Belinda Karahalios, MPP for Cambridge announced 29 Ontario Research Fund-Research Infrastructure (ORF-RI) awards in February.
ORF-RI advances research programs by supporting infrastructure needs such as equipment and modern facilities. The announcement is part of a larger investment by the Province of Ontario aimed at advancing Ontario’s competitive edge.

- Emmanuel Ho (School of Pharmacy, WIN Member): Advanced microbicide research and analysis facility (AMRAF) ($123,378)
- Anna Klinkova (Chemistry, WIN Member): Nanocatalyst characterization and performance studies platform ($130,000)
- Janusz Pawliszyn (Chemistry, WIN Member): Triple quadrupole mass spectrometer ($100,000)
