If you are an undergraduate student, a graduate student, post doctorial fellow, a visiting researcher, or any other research personnel who would like to request laboratory access and/or office space in the WIN Quantum-Nano Centre (QNC) please read all information on this page and complete the form below.

Terms: Office space in WIN Quantum-Nano Centre allocation is contingent upon availability.
Office Space Eligibility:
- Graduate Students on-campus registered full-time
- Post Doctoral Fellows
- Visiting Researcher/Scholar
- Co-op/Undergraduate Student
Procedures:
Applicant
- Applicants must be officially registered with UWaterloo and are required to inform their home department they are requesting space in QNC
- Applicants must submit a completed Space Request Form with the required training summary
- Applicants can submit Space Request Forms anytime to WIN using the webform
- The application will be processed by WIN Office within 10 business days of receipt of this request, pending completion of safety training and faculty authorization
- Approved applicants will be notified via email when key permits can be picked up
Authorization
- Supervising PI will be required to authorize all space requests (laboratory, office and after-hours)
- If the applicant is required to have office space with a particular research group, PI must inform the WIN Office
Returns
- All keys and key fobs must be returned to WIN by the end date on the submitted request, via the key dropbox at QNC 3601 or mail
- If keys are not returned, the applicant's supervisor and the home department will be notified
Terms of Service
- Keyholder must maintain personal possession of issued UWaterloo keys and fobs; are responsible for their physical security
- Key transfers from one person to another or key sharing or lending are strictly prohibited
- The keyholder is responsible for the security of any space to which they have keys and shall not admit unauthorized or non-registered persons into that space in their absence
- If there is a change in key holder’s position status (e.g. from a Master student to a PhD student), please inform the WIN office with new anticipated end date (with PI’s approval)
- Keyholder must present valid documentation from the University of Waterloo when/if requested
- All keys and key fobs must be returned by the permit end date, via the key dropbox at QNC 3601 or mail
- Lost keys and key fobs must be reported immediately to win-office@uwaterloo.ca
