The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition challenges research-based graduate students to articulate the impact and breadth of their research in a 3 minute presentation, using just 1 static power point slide.
The Engineering heats go from February 3 to March 3. Winners of the heats will move forward to the 3MT University-wide final on March 26, 2020.
If you are a competitor, review the slide submission requirements page for slide requirements and deadlines (deadlines vary based on the date of your heat!)
A complete faculty heat listing is available through the Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs 3MT webpage. All the Engineering faculty heat dates are below.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
