Join us for a dialogue exchange on exploring mutual advocacy for a brighter Engineering community
Let’s create safe space to discuss stigma we experience and how we can enable mutual advocacy through our shared wisdom. Join us for a dialogue exchange. Here we will collaboratively engage in a sharing circle modeled from indigenous practices and guided by a trained facilitator. Come hold some space with us. Space is limited! Light refreshments provided. All Engineering Graduate Students welcome.
What to expect
- Engage in a sharing circle. Everyone has the opportunity to share or quietly hold space. Each perspective is valuable and equal – it adds to our collective wisdom.
- Discuss important topics of stigma and how we can do better together. Some examples include: What thoughts/fears/beliefs came up for you when you entered Engineering? Were they confirmed? How can we collectively do better with newfound sensitivity?
- Build empathy together with our peers through learning to listen and listening to learn.
- What to bring: Bring your wisdom, your ears and willingness to try something new.
