Dr. Norman Zhou elected to Royal Society of Canada (RSC)

The Royal Society of Canada has named its newest fellows, and a professor from MME is joining the ranks.  

Dr. Norman Zhou, a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Advanced Materials Joining and Processing, is highly recognized for his contributions to materials science and engineering. He is also actively involved in the field’s research as he has authored and co-authored more than 500 peer-reviewed articles and more than 28,600 citations to date. This reflects the impact of his research in the field.  

On top of that, he’s deeply passionate about sharing his knowledge with the next generation of materials science engineers. To date, he has supervised over 140 graduate students.  

Zhou embraces entrepreneurship and has co-founded AquaSensing and SmarterAlloys.
