Lumos glasses
Congratulations to Lucas Wen Tang, a junior graduate student, for becoming the recipient of a Minister of Colleges and Universities’ Award of Excellence in the Rising Star category.

In his undergraduate years, Tang invented a pair of smart light therapy glasses. These glasses are as effective as the heavy and powerful light therapy lights used in hospitals, and as wearable as a pair of regular sunglasses. He then founded Lumos to market his invention. Lumos was named one of the “hottest sleep technology startups of the year” by Sleep Gadgets and Las Vegas Review Journal in 2020. The company was invited to join the Consumer Technology Association to set standards on technologies around Sleep, Mental Health, and AI. Tang was also invited to be a full member of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) by CIE Canadian National Committee.
