Three MME professors, Zhao Pan, XiaoYu Wu and Yimin Wu, will receive a total of $264,900 under a federal program designed to give exceptional researchers the tools and equipment needed to become leaders in their fields. This grant was financed through a federal program to assist researchers and $77 million was given out to support 332 researchers across Canada.
Zhao Pan - Mild-impact-induced Cavitation in Soft Matter and Traumatic Brain Injury: From Fluid Physics to Applied Health - $80,000
XiaoYu Wu – Understanding the Transport Phenomena and Reaction Kinetics in Mixed Ionic-electronic Conducting (MIEC) Membranes - $79,900
Yimin Wu – Understanding the Role of Defects in Artificial Leaves using In-Situ Multimodal Characterizations and Calculation - $105,000
“Our researchers have always thought big. Now, more than ever, they need state-of-the-art labs and equipment to turn their visions into reality. Investing in our university research infrastructure is key to our continuing role as an innovation leader in wide-ranging fields, from Indigenous research to quantum computing, from neurobiology to advanced robotics. These investments will not only support our ground-breaking contributions to science and research but also improve our economy, environment and quality of life.” Francois-Philippe Champagne, the minister of innovation, science and industry, said in a media release.
