Sam Dugan Vision Spatial Technologies
As an avid skier, Sam Dugan, an MME Student, is the inventor of computer vision technology which leverages state of the art Nvidia processors and proprietary algorithms, designed to monitor danger zones and prevent avoidable accidents.

SmartPatrol alerts uphill skiers and riders and notifies them when the landing zone is clear using high brilliancy, weather adaptive LED stop-lights installed on terrain park features.

It includes a video camera mounted on a pole to monitor high-risk areas of ski hills and, with processing by computer vision algorithms, warn approaching skiers and snowboarders if there is danger ahead. “Our goal is to make the world a safer place to play,” Dugan wrote in his submission to the contest.
