The University of Waterloo and the National Research Council (NRC) are combining efforts to accelerate 3D printing processes using metals. One key focus of this collaboration will be the development of experimental metal alloy powders to be used in the printing process.
"We want to create in southwestern Ontario a unique ecosystem to support metal additive manufacturing (AM) in terms of research and development and to translate competencies to industry partners," says Mihaela Vlasea, the associate director of UW's Multi-Scale Additive Manufacturing Lab.
