This December two School of Pharmacy students received the first-ever La Roche-Posay Dermatology Contest award. Taylor Gelinas and Kristi Butt are senior pharmacy students who both share a passion for community practice and an interest in supporting patients with dermatological conditions.

On November 10, the School of Pharmacy opened its doors to Waterloo Region welcoming over 100 audience members to the School’s annual Public Lecture.

The Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) have committed $400,000 in support of the School of Pharmacy’s Pharmacy5in5 online education tool. Developed by Professor Kelly Grindrod, Pharmacy5in5 is an interactive, online teaching tool that houses self-assessment quizzes and other educational resources.

On Friday October 21, 118 pharmacy students convocated from the University of Waterloo. After four years of rigorous courses, three co-op work terms, and six months of clinical rotation in their final year, the class of 2016 finally earned their PharmD.

On Saturday October 1, Waterloo Pharmacy held its first ever alumni Reunion. Run in conjunction with the University of Waterloo’s Reunion Weekend, Pharmacy Reunion invited alumni back to the Kitchener-based School for a full day of learning, laughter and old friends and professors.

By providing tools to improve health literacy, pharmacists can help patients better manage conditions and interpret vital information.
