Remembering Michael Stones

Michael Stones, who played a vital role in the growth of gerontology and research on aging at University of Waterloo and in Canada in general, passed away unexpectedly on April 22.

Heather Keller, a Kinesiology and Health Sciences professor, has received a career recognition award from the Canadian Nutrition Society: the Earle Willard McHenry Award for Distinguished Service in Nutrition. 

Warren Dodd, a professor in the School of Public Health Sciences, was one of two researchers in the Faculty of Health to receive funding from the Government of Canada’s New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF).

John Hirdes, a professor in the School of Public Health Sciences, has received the designation of University Professor. He is one of two faculty members, along with Robert Mann in Physics and Astronomy, to be named in 2022.
