There are a lot of options when it comes to pursuing a graduate degree. Whether you’re contemplating a specific discipline, already know your dream program or are fresh to the idea of graduate studies, Applied Health Sciences (AHS) Graduate Studies Information Week is for you.

During the week of October 5, we will be offering a series of online sessions to help you learn more about graduate studies and the comprehensive graduate programs in AHS.

Fundamentals of Grad School | Monday, October 5, 2020, 11:45am - 1:00pm

Exploring graduate studies can be overwhelming. Kaitlyn Kraatz from UWaterloo’s Centre for Career Development will help you learn the fundamentals of graduate school such as program types; application and admission processes, timelines and requirements; how to prepare a strong application and more. Kaitlyn will take questions at the end of her presentation.

Grad Studies in Recreation and Leisure Studies | Tuesday, October 6, 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Students and researchers in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies examine the implications of leisure and leisure behaviour on individuals, communities and society. Areas of focus include sport, business, therapeutic recreation, tourism and events.

Participants will learn about research, courses, funding and admission requirements and processes. You’ll also have the opportunity to hear from the program team and current graduate students.

Grad Studies in the School of Public Health and Health Systems | Wednesday, October 7, 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Researchers and students in the School of Public Health and Health Systems take an interdisciplinary approach to public and population health challenges in Canada and around the world. SPHHS offers professional, online master’s programs as well as research master’s and PhD programs. 

Participants will learn about research areas, courses, funding and admission requirements and processes. You’ll also have the opportunity to hear from the program team and current graduate students.

Grad Studies in Kinesiology | Thursday, October 8, 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Students and researchers in the Department of Kinesiology are focused on an interdisciplinary approach to optimizing health, preventing injury and illness and extending the years of high-quality life. Research and coursework are focused in the areas of biomechanics, neuroscience and physiology and nutrition.

Participants will learn about research areas, courses, funding and admission requirements and processes. You’ll also have the opportunity to hear from the program team and current graduate students.
