The Honorary Senior Fellowship is Renison University College's equivalent to honorary doctorates awarded by degree-granting universities. It is granted to persons who have distinguished themselves in the wider community through their contributions to one or more of the following: Renison, the University of Waterloo, the Anglican Church, the wider community of Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, or the world, and may have some affinity with the College.
Insignia: Badge of the College within a circular border of red, upon which is inscribed the name and motto of the College, suspended from a red ribbon.
Criteria:
- The general criteria for this award are stated above.
- This honour may be granted to retired Chairs of the Board of Governors. It may also be granted to persons who have served as volunteers for the College, including as members of the Board of Governors, or who have contributed to the College through activities associated with the Office of External Relations & Internal Communications. Contributions to the College should be significant and noteworthy.
Usually, the nomination originates from a person associated with the College, including students, staff, faculty of all kinds, alumni/ae, Senior Fellows, other Honorary Senior Fellows, and members of the Board of Governors. The Office of External Relations & Internal Communications may be involved in this nomination. There should be one lead nominator with additional commendations and recommendations as appropriate. The nominating letter should include a detailed resume of the nominee and should provide a detailed synopsis of his or her career as appropriate.
Honorary Senior Fellow nominees will not normally have been employed at Renison University College.
