The Hanami (Cherry Blossom Viewing) Event will take place this Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Renison.

Hanami is a traditional Japanese custom of appreciating the beauty of cherry blossoms, and we are delighted to celebrate it once again on our campus. The cherry trees at Renison, generously donated by the Consulate-General of Japan in Toronto, have flourished beautifully over the years and now create a wonderful springtime sight. This will be our second Hanami event.

We are honored to welcome Consul-General Takeshi Matsunaga from the Consulate-General of Japan in Toronto and Miya Belair, President of the Waterloo Region Japanese Canadian Community Association (Nikkeikai), as our special guests.

The event will also coincide with the Open House of the Sakura Japanese Language School, which offers Saturday classes for students from junior kindergarten through grade six at Renison.
