Renison and RAAS Collective Agreement Ratified

Friday, January 12, 2024

On behalf of Renison University College and Renison Association of Academic Staff (RAAS), Dr. Wendy Fletcher, President of Renison and Dr. Rob Case, President of RAAS, are pleased to announce that the new collective agreement, tentatively reached on December 19, 2023, has now been ratified.

This joint announcement follows a special Board of Governors meeting, held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 and a RAAS membership vote, which closed at 9:00 am today, Friday, January 12, 2024. The Renison Board of Governors voted unanimously to formalize the agreement, as did the 95% of RAAS members who voted.

“I would like to express my deepest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to both negotiating teams for their effort and dedication in working toward an agreement” said Dr. Fletcher. Dr. Case agreed with these sentiments and added, “both sides were committed to the well-being of Renison and its students; both sides needed to make accommodations and did so for the sake of the College.” Together Wendy and Rob look forward to continuing the constructive work begun through the process of negotiation on the shared project of realizing Renison’s goals in support of the academic objectives of our students.

The new Agreement will go into effect immediately and will be in force for a period of three years, due for renewal on April 30, 2026. Once the final edits and formatting are complete, the Agreement will be accessible on the Renison website under the faculty and Staff tab, and on the RAAS website.
