Meet Hana, a second year Honours Arts and Business student majoring in Communication Studies who has just finished a co-op term at the School of Accounting and Finance (SAF).
Hana worked as the competition coordinator associate, creating digital communications, assisting with the administration of the Financial Literacy Competition, and working on events for SAF students.
Zachary, Elsa, Delaney, and Hemadri, a team of AFM students, recently competed in the final round of the National Investment Banking Competition. Their weekend in Vancouver included exploration of the Waterfront, a tour of the Scotiabank office, and a pitch to judges.
Since I moved from Hong Kong at fourteen years old, finding “home” in a new country was a scary thing. With time and new experiences, I have learned to be independent, gained intercultural skills, and developed curiosity for the people and things around me. Starting university at Waterloo was a learning curve too (with co-op as well).

Our team, (Joanna and Hufsah), recently competed at the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition (ICBC). The ICBC was hosted by Smith School of Business at Queen’s University from January 12-14. Today, we are excited to share our journey!
The Goodman Brock University Accounting Conference was a fun and unique way for us to mingle with like-minded individuals in accounting and learn useful knowledge outside the classroom! We walked away from the conference with great memories, enhanced problem-solving skills and a third place trophy!
