Program: Biology, Medical Physiology Minor
Year: 2
Stream of study: Co-op
Pronouns: She/Her
Career goal: I hope to pursue optometry in the future!
How I get involved: On campus, I get involved through UW clubs, such as Global Medical Brigades, Make A Wish and STEM cell club, which I was able to broaden my circle and get to meet more like-minded individuals. Being a science orientation leader is one of my favourite ways to get involved as it was such a fun experience to represent the Faculty of Science and proudly welcome the first years, while making great long lasting memories.
Why I love my program
I love my program because it has a good balance between learning about microbiology and human physiology, while providing a good chemistry foundation; all very useful for post graduate studies. Moreover, I love that my program has many lab courses which has been a great opportunity for hands-on learning and participating and learning from new experiments.
Why University of Waterloo?
I chose the University of Waterloo as I really liked the aspect of Co-op because I believed that gaining hands-on experience is incredibly important in terms of being able to take class knowledge and be able to apply it to the real world. I also admired the balance that the University of Waterloo has with strong academics and a large variety of extracurricular opportunities.
