Program: Honours Science + CAP
Year: 2
Stream of study: Regular
Pronouns: She/Her
Career goal: Pharmacist!
How I get involved: Starting university people always told me to "get involved" because that was the best way to make the most of the university experience, so that's exactly what I did. I'm now on my second season with the University of Waterloo Dance Company (UWDC) and will be choreographing a number this year! I was a first-year orientation leader this year, this fall term I am a media coordinator for the Science Coffee and Donut (CnD) and of course a science ambassador and I couldn't be more excited to start!
Why I love my program
I love my program because it's so flexible. Being in CAP means that I have to complete all my university-required credits in just 2 years, which means I need to be able to have a lot of spots for elective classes each term, and that's what honours science does for me. It also allows me to take classes outside of just chemistry and biology, but to take classes in areas that interest me (classical mythology is a personal favourite of mine). CAP is also a super cool opportunity for those interested in pharmacy because it introduces you to the pharmacy community before you even start, allowing you to connect with future classmates and a "buddy" who can help guide you in your undergraduate and graduate journey!
Why University of Waterloo?
I chose the University of Waterloo because I loved everything about it, and I say that honestly. After doing lots of research to see what program/school/school-life was right for me, there was no doubt in my mind that Waterloo was the right choice. I knew I wanted to go to a school where I was with like-minded individuals, but who also knew how to have some fun, and this school does just that. There are so many clubs that are constantly hosting fun events, but so many nice spots to study when I need it, and every day I know more and more that I made the right choice in choosing the University of Waterloo.
