Program: Honours Biology
Year: 3
Stream of study: Co-op
Pronouns: She/Her
Career goal: I am currently considering all my options but leaning heavily towards dental school.
How I get involved: I like joining various campus clubs to meet new people and build on my skills. In the past, I’ve been an orientation coordinator, a member of the Women in STEM club at Waterloo, and part of the pre-dental club. I’ve also been a TA for a first-year lab course and this year, I’ve continued on that route by TAing a first-year course and joining the Waterloo Science Ambassador program.
Why I love my program
I love my program because it offers the flexibility to explore various aspects of biology and diverse career paths. The co-op opportunities have allowed me to gain hands-on experience at different organizations, helping me develop skills that would have taken much longer to acquire otherwise. Additionally, I’ve had the chance to connect with like-minded individuals who share my passion for the field, creating a supportive community that enhances my learning experience. The combination of practical experience and networking has truly enriched my education and prepared me for a successful future.
Why University of Waterloo?
I chose the University of Waterloo because of its co-op program. At the time, I was uncertain about my career path, and I knew that Waterloo would provide the flexibility I needed to explore various options.
