A message from President Feridun Hamdullahpur to all students, staff, and faculty:

I am pleased to share the University of Waterloo’s 2016 Environmental Sustainability Report.

Each year, Waterloo publishes a summary of the actions that students, staff and faculty have taken across campus to reduce our environmental impact. From new research projects to student events to ongoing changes to policy and practice, it is inspiring to see the dedication and involvement of so many people in our University community.

Bike Month 2017 at UWaterloo

June was Bike Month across Waterloo Region! In partnership with TravelWise, the Sustainability Office challenged cyclists to different activities and tasks throughout the month to promote the use of active transportation to campus and celebrate those who have committed to cycling.

On April 18th, the University of Waterloo and the Kitchener Public Library, in association with Power Shift Waterloo Region, hosted its Public Lecture: Transforming Energy in Waterloo Region. There were over 140 people who filled up the auditorium to hear what the future holds for sustainability and energy in the Region.

Starting March 6th, the Region of Waterloo is changing the way that waste is collected. To ensure your garbage is collected properly and to keep our community and neighbourhoods clean, please review the following information.
