On Saturday, March 26th, St. Paul’s celebrated the 50th annual Blackforest Coffee House. Gathering in Alumni Hall, decorated suitably as a rainforest, the time-honored tradition brought students, staff and friends of the college together to support performers as they took the stage. Student performers shared their immense talents through comedy, dance and music. The night opened with a musical performance by Nathalie Boal, followed by an Irish dance by Liz Beach and another musical performance by Laura Ross and then, the acapella group, Unaccompanied Minors took the stage to share 3 incredible songs. After a brief intermission where guests were able to enjoy refreshments and black forest cupcakes, the emcee’s welcomed Jasmine Ou for a musical performance, Radhika Thapar for a musical performance and Garen Simpson capped the night off by sharing his drumming skills. Zoey Zhang, a member of the Unaccompanied Minors group and a St. Paul’s Women in Engineering Peer Leader shared her excitement to be back on stage:
“It was super exciting singing with my group because we haven't done an in-person gig in two years because of the pandemic, and doing it at St. Paul’s where I've been a Women in Engineering Peer Leader for two years now, was really exciting for me because it’s a very full-circle moment to get to share what I love in a place where I really enjoy helping out.”
Zoey Zhang, 3A Biomedical Engineering
For those who attended the Blackforest Coffee House with St. Pauls, it was a heartfelt moment to see many come out to share their talent and to see such a flourishing community.
We can't wait to welcome the St. Paul’s community back to campus in the years to come!
