After completing a BMath (2002) and MMath (2004) in Applied Mathematics here at UW, I had the privilege of teaching several courses here while exploring aviation on the side (CPL single-engine licence and PPL ground school instructor), then the good fortune to land a faculty position as a Lecturer in 2005 then Continuing Lecturer around 2014.
I teach mostly second-year Calculus and Differential Equations courses, and still very much enjoy lecturing and interacting with students, helping those who are struggling and often learning new things from some very bright minds. Service duties have included advising, transfer credit assessment, serving on various committees, and helping to create high school contests, most recently the Sir Isaac Newton Physics Contest and the Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
