The UW English Society is a diverse and collaborative team of students dedicated to fostering a sense of community across the Department of English Language & Literature. We operate on two key mandates. Firstly, to provide student support and opportunities for English undergraduate students. Secondly, to provide creative outlets for non-English students.
You don’t have to be an English major or minor to join! We host a variety of events and publish our very own in-house zine, Compass. We welcome students from every faculty and program. As long as you enjoy building a community of readers or have an interest in developing your own writing, you’ll fit right in.
Do you have questions about being an undergraduate student within UW’s English Department? Well, we also host office hours! Stop by Hagey Hall 260 on Mondays from 9:00AM to 4:00PM to get to know some of our wonderful members. To stay in touch with us, you can follow us on Instagram (@uwenglishsociety), subscribe to our Substack newsletter, or email us (uwenglishsoc@gmail.com)!
