English Department Course Scheduling Constraints

FALL 2024

We have already gathered your course preferences.  Now we need you to please complete the following form to indicate any constraints that may affect your availability to teach, as well as any specific classroom needs.

Please remember that while every effort will be made to accommodate your requests, it may not be possible due to factors beyond departmental control. If a selection cannot be accommodated, the Chair will contact you directly.

Teaching Preferences

Although it is our intention to accommodate all selections in this section, it may not be possible to do so. If a selection cannot be accommodated, the Chair/Director will contact you to resolve the discrepancy.

Preferred Teaching Window

Please select one. The default teaching window is 8:30am to 5:30pm. Please note that due to limitations of daytime standardized time slots, if you are requesting to teach a 1x3hr time slot, you cannot select 9:00am-4:30pm.
Evening Teaching Availability

Please select one. The default assumption is that you are unable to teach after 5:30 p.m.
Back-to-Back Courses
The default assumption is that you can teach back to back courses, if necessary. Click on the button below if you wish to indicate otherwise.
Non-teaching day
By default, all instructors will be given at least one day without teaching. Please select the box below if you do not require a non-teaching day.
Additional Teaching Constraints
If you have any constraints that limit your availability to teach within the provided windows, please indicate below. Level 1 constraints on availability include documented medical accommodations, or documented religious, disability, or other Human Rights accommodations. Child care, partner care or elder care constraints will be honoured if possible. It is better to foresee and communicate these constraints than to have to change schedules after they have been set. Please list these constraints (days and times you cannot teach) here:
