You’ll learn about his role helping the RCMP implement the new Federal Greening Government Strategy to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, his experiences at COP 24 and COP26, how working for a start-up in the oil and gas industry changed his perspectives towards environmental issues and how he decided whether to be a generalist or specialist. Ashoke Mohanraj (BES 2021, ERS)
Environmental Advisor, Royal Canadian Mounted Police
Ashoke Mohanraj is a recent graduate from the University of Waterloo’s School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability with a specialization in Environmental Assessment. He currently works as an Environmental Advisor for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police where one of his main directives is to help the RCMP implement the new Federal Greening Government Strategy, specifically reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.
He also serves as the Director of Programming for the United Nations Association in Canada Toronto Regional Branch, and just recently came back from COP26 negotiations as part of the Canadian delegation. Ashoke hopes to eventually pursue a career in climate law and governance where he can help Canada be at the forefront of the energy transition.
