Joseph Pang (BES 2016)
B777 Second Officer, Cathay Pacific Airways
Joseph Pang’s aviation career started shortly after graduating from the University of Waterloo’s Geography and Aviation program in 2016. The Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre hired him as a Flight Instructor, where he spent the next three years earning his licenses and learning how to fly. After years of instructing and 1000 flight hours, Joseph started his first regional airline job with Air Georgian, flying under the Air Canada Express banner.
He is now with Cathay Pacific Airways and has flown all over the world for almost four years. Flying long haul is challenging as it involves dealing with drastic changes in weather environment, flying over high terrain, and even talking to different ATC units with other local procedures, all in a single flight! He has recently been asked to join the cargo side of the operation, flying the B747, a.k.a. the Queen of the Skies, around the world.
