James Pyo (BES 2009, GEM)
Transportation Planner, City of Mississauga
Starting out at the Region of Peel as a student, James Pyo leveraged his experience to build his professional network and secure a permanent position. Today, he is now a transportation planner based in the Toronto area with over eight years of experience in the public sector.
James has a lifelong passion for smart growth, sustainable development, human rights, and the responsible use of land. With an inter-disciplinary education in planning, geography, and mathematics, as well as personal experience living and working in central, southwestern, northern, and eastern Ontario, he has applied his knowledge and expertise in various subject areas including transportation demand management (TDM), land use planning policy framework in Ontario, data collection and analysis, active transportation, public outreach and consultation, and accessibility and universal design.
