The Government of Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) recently announced the funding recipients of their Insight Grants and Insight Development Grants in which five Faculty of Environment researchers were awarded project funding. Additionally, The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) has named Peter Crank, Christine Dow and Richard Petrone as recipients of the 2025 NSERC Discovery Grants.

Keely Stenberg, a PhD candidate in the School of Planning, was recently honoured with two prestigious awards at the Canadian Association of Geographers (CAG) Annual Conference for a presentation on her health equity and community collaboration research.
Dr. Michelle Rutty and Dr. Jeremy Pittman have been invited to the International Science Council’s newly formed Global Roster of Experts. Designed to bridge the gap between science and policy, the roster was formed to ensure that global decision-makers have access to credible, timely, and context-specific scientific advice that can drive progress on the most urgent global challenges.
