The Government of Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) recently announced new grant recipients, with 12 Faculty of Environment researchers awarded funding. Congratulations to Amelia Clarke, Cameron McCordic, Janice Barry, Andrea Collins, Michelle Rutty, Steffanie Scott, Jason Thistlethwaite, Julie Bernard, Leia Minaker, Joe (Zhu) Qian, Stephen Quilley and Nancy Worth.

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation has recognized Dr. Dawn Parker, professor in the School of Planning, and the Urban Growth and Change Research Group with the Gold Roof Award for Housing Research Excellence.

Additionally, The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) has named Peter Crank, Christine Dow and Richard Petrone as recipients of the 2025 NSERC Discovery Grants. 

Congratulations to Dr. Dawn Cassandra Parker on being selected as the winner of the 2024 Influential Female Researcher in Land System Science Award.
